Biography

Who are you going to turn to for to make sense of the fishbowl that is Washington Politics? Ana Marie Cox, that's who. The writer who made Washington politics irresistibly naughty, knows the town, the politicians and the issues, and in her hilarious and enlightening presentations takes us on an eye-opening journey right into the muck of it all.

Ana Marie Cox is the Washington Editor of TIME.com. Cox joined TIME in March 2006, as a contributing writer. In her role as Washington Editor, she will be coordinating TIME.com’s political coverage as well as continuing to create features and essays for both the print and online editions.

Her speeches, equal parts gossip, humor, politics and policy are as entertaining as they are educational.

Ana is the bestselling author of Dog Days, The New York Times called the novel, "Brisk, smart, smutty, knowing and very well-written." adding, "if this sparkly, witty, occasionally vicious little novel is any indication of Wonkette's talent, then Cox ought to log out of cyberspace and start calling herself Novelette.” She was founding editor of Wonkette, one of the most popular and influential blogs of her time (found at http://wonkette.com); under her tenure, Wonkette was known for its sharp, sarcastic, intelligent voice, and for its mixture of heady political discourse with some of the more salacious gossip from inside the Beltway.

She is at work on her next book, an anthropological study of young conservatives.
